Meet our Teachers

Annette Wagner
Annette spent 30 years working in hi-tech as a user interface designer. She has collected 21 patents over those years working for companies like Apple Computer and Sun Microsystems. She currently runs a website design business and is a working artist.
Annette’s focus is on bringing advanced technology and computing classes to Coding for Kids using credit card sized computers called Raspberry Pis. She also teaches graphic design classes on logos and web design.

Erin Heiselmann
I graduated with a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Montana. For the last 20 years I have been working as a GIS Specialist for the Forest Service and most recently the Bureau of Land Management.
Throughout my career I have gotten the opportunity to support Wildland Fire Incident Management mapping complex wildland fires throughout the western US. When mobile GIS came along, I got to see firsthand the power of having real-time data at your fingertips. As result I have acquired a newfound passion for the emerging field of mobile GIS and I’m excited to ignite geospatial passions in the next generation!

Jessie Fischer
Jessie Fischer has 20 years of experience with geospatial information systems (GIS). She has worked for both the public and private sectors as a consultant, soil conservationist and geospatial ecologist.
Jessie currently works for the Bureau of Land Management in Butte, MT, where she enjoys protecting and improving public lands through mobile data collection, cartography, and data analysis. Jessie enjoys hiking, mountain biking, gardening, reading, and hanging out with her kids, husband, and pup.

Julia White
Julia White spent four years in the Marine Corps as a Spanish Linguist. After which she attended the University of Montana where she traveled to schools presenting space science to K-12 students with NASA’s SPOT program. She graduated in 2008 with her elementary teaching degree and has taught preschool through 5th grade since then.
Julia is currently a kindergarten teacher at Florence-Carlton Elementary where she tries to incorporate as many STEAM projects as possible. When she isn’t at work and coming up with new activities, she loves to travel and read.

Kathleen Braverman
Kathleen currently teaches Creative Writing and Special Education at Stevensville Schools. She has been teaching English and Special Education since 2011 and has taught all grades K-12. Kathleen moved to Montana from the New York area in 2004 to complete a Masters of Fine Arts in Poetry at the UM. After completing her degree, she moved to the Sapphire Mountains where she still lives off-grid with her family.

Lisa Decker
Lisa is a graphic designer studying art education at the University of Montana. She has lived in the Bitterroot Valley since 2009 and loves going on adventures with her family. Lisa will be student teaching at the Stevensville and Corvallis schools during the spring of 2023 and plans to be a full-time art teacher once she has received her certification.

Nya Siebert
I am currently a Junior attending Stevensville Highschool. I have been a part of this program since the very beginning, helping to assist my father with teaching classes during both the summer and the school year. Watching these students get excited when they program their robots has brought me a lot of joy over the years. I can't wait to meet your children and get to work with them!

Rachel Bemis
I live in Stevensville, MT and teach 4th grade in Corvallis. I earned my Elementary Education Bachelors degree from the University of Montana, Missoula in 2014 and earned my Master of Art in Integrated Arts and Education in 2021. I was a semi-finalist for a Fulbright scholarship.
I look forward to connecting with students and teaching them new and innovative ways to set goals, integrate technology and tap into their creative minds. In my free time, I love spending time with my St. Bernard, Lorelai, my friends and family. I love paddle boarding, watching a good movie, reading my book club books, going to hot springs and planning my next trip.

Sabrina Hamrick
Sabrina graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1989 with an Elementary K-8 teaching degree. She also has a specialization in General Sciences. She has taught science from grades 3 through 8 for the last 30 years. While teaching in Hawaii, she began a STEM program in 2014 at Wailuku Elementary for grades 3-5. In 2016, she received her Gifted and Talented certification from the University of Houston. She is currently the 7th and 8th grade math teacher at Stevensville Middle school.

Scott Siebert
Scott Seibert has been an elementary teacher since 2004. He has taught almost every grade level from kindergarten to eighth grade. He loves watching students problem solve and the successes that come along the way. He is currently teaching Computer Science at Stevensville Middle School to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and looks forward to working with your child and seeing the awesome things they create!

Silas Siebert
I am a student at Stevensville High School. Some of my hobbies are playing soccer, traveling, building lego, and coding. I have helped teach many classes before, and enjoy watching kids learn while having fun!

Stephen Tucker
Stephen Tucker is a third-grade teacher at Corvallis Primary School. Stephen graduated from the University of Montana in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. He is currently working on a Master's Degree in Integrated Arts and Education through the Creative Pulse Graduate program at the University of Montana.
Stephen is in his eleventh year of teaching, and he has seven years of experience coaching robotics through the FIRST Lego League Challenge program. Stephen has a passion for math, science, and everything outdoors.

Laura Whitehead
Laura Whitehead teaches 6th and 7th grade science at Stevensville Middle School. She began her work in education as a parent volunteer, followed by five years working in special education. After going back to school to attain her teaching degree, Laura graduated in December of 2019 and is enjoying teaching middle school science. Laura's passion for teaching is only surpassed by her passion for learning. goes here
